Sept 1st, One day of Spring was a quick fling I loved!

The first day of Spring teased us with her sunshine and still day, I hope she is going to visit again and stay real soon.
Sept 1st was a jandals and tee day, & in anticipation of their return we have reprinted our unisex kids tees with this Tiki print. It works so well as a learning aid for the colours in Maori as well as looking great. In a mix of pacific green, indigo & gull grey tees they are sure to make a great NZ gift. This has to be my favourite tee this Spring, something about bronze is an understated earthy colour that is special.
A perfect colour to be used with our Neck Print to frame the wearers face and mana.
We enjoyed playing with colour this spring when printing our new Womens tees… so you have lots of combinations to choose from!

We are pleased to finally have some new womens prints and beautiful fresh colourways in our Womens Tees! Chilli Red, Pacific Green & classic Black with complementary prints in teal, mulberry, bronze and white…
Check out our new hand drawn Aroha Heart which is finer and full of movement. Our neckprint which is slowly catching on has been handprinted in an array of colours… just to confuse you (and because I love colour and could not choose myself!).
We have printed the neckprint on a childrens short sleeve hooded sweatshirt in a ataahua teal print on pacific green which my daughter is adoring right now…. I hope you enjoy this newness!

New Spiral Womens Tees

The first of our new womens prints… we love the chilli red colour tees too! This spiral print is off to the left side on tee, nice and clean print that allows this tee to be dressed up or down. Still a beautiful, flattering cut organic tee with scoop neckline and shaped in at the waist but please note that this time our new tees are a small fit (sorry!)…. so please order up a size. Available in Chilli Red with a mulberry print or Black tee with a teal print. Watch this space for our pacific green womens tees too!

Learn your colours in te reo maori with our Tiki print

Not only does our rendition of the tiki look good, it doubles as a simple bilingual learning tool for colours in te reo maori. Each colour is printed with its corresponding english word around along the sides of the tiki print. One of our Rata & Ruby goals is to spread an understanding and appreciation of te ao maori – the maori world (language, art, sayings, beliefs) in a contemporary way… and with aroha!
We have these fresh green and toasty warm kids hoodies on SALE at the moment for $39 each … to help spread the warmth and love. It looks great on tama – boys and wahine – girls too!

I love the feeling of summer holdiays approaching and getting together with whanau and friends over christmas.
